How To Be Sure You Are Going To Heaven?
Do you believe in eternity? I know you do!! Could I ask you a personal question? In your personal opinion what do you think it takes to go to heaven and have eternal life? In the next paragraphs I am going to tell you how the Bible answers that question.
I can tell you how to be saved and how to inherit eternal life by using one word: FAITH Each letter in this word illustrates how you can know you’re saved and on your way to heaven when life is over.
F stands for forgiveness. All of us are sinners and need God’s forgiveness. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” We need to know that forgiveness is in Jesus only. The Bible says, “In Him, (meaning Jesus), we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sin.”
A stands for available. Forgiveness is available to all people. John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” We do need to remember that forgiveness of sin is not automatic. The Bible teaches that everyone who says Lord will not enter the kingdom of heaven. Why is that so, you ask? It is because of the next letter.
I stands for impossible. It is impossible for you and me to get to heaven on our own. Ephesians 2:8 says, “For by grace are you saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is a gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast.” Your question might be, “What do I do?”
T stands for turn. You must be willing to change directions with your life. In the Bible turn means to repent. You must be willing to turn from your sin and your self-righteousness and turn to Christ, trusting Him alone. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life no man comes to the Father but by me.” The best news is that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. This brings you to your final destination.
H stands for heaven. Heaven is where we will spend eternity with God. Jesus promised: “I go to prepare a place for you and if I go to prepare a place for you I will come again and receive you unto myself that where I am you may be also.”
If you understand what I have shared and if you will receive it for yourself you can be saved and you can begin enjoying that eternal life right now. Why don’t you pray a prayer like this: “Dear God, I know that you love me. I confess my sin and need of salvation. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and arose from the grave. I turn away from my sin and place my faith in Jesus as my Savior and Lord. I want to follow you with my life. Amen!”
If you prayed this prayer you are born again. Why don’t you let us know of your decision by calling us and welcome to the Family of God.
